Ministry To Jamaica
THEREFORE GO AND MAKE DISCIPLES OF ALL NATIONS… MATTHEW 28:19
My personal assignment has been to go to the nations and bring the Good News, especially to the precious children. Following my time of bereavement, the celebration of Mother’s Day would take on a renewed importance, as I would begin to walk in the destiny of becoming a “Mother to the Nations”. From the initial missionary trip that followed Patrice’s Heavenly departure, my team and I would go to Jamaica every year during Mother’s Day to minister and celebrate with the orphans living in impoverished orphanages of this third world country. I believe that children are a “gift from God”, and that we should cherish these priceless gifts.
One orphanage in particular is the West Haven Handicapped Children’s Home in Jamaica, where most of the children have been neglected and abandoned. Some have been found at the dump, while others are discarded at the door of the orphanage, because parents do not want the responsibility of raising a “handicapped child”. The children are always ecstatic to see us coming because they know that we are going to give them a great big birthday party. We provide a full dinner along with a big delicious birthday cake and ice cream cones! Some of the children are so severely handicapped that they are not able to feed themselves, and it gives us much pleasure and great honor to feed them.
Through the generous gifts and contributions of partners and supporters of this ministry as well as local vendors, we are also able to furnish them with necessities such as: washers, dryers, soap, toilet paper, toothpaste, shampoo, toothbrushes, panties, diapers, clothes and we must not forget the toys. We have puppet shows for them, and as we sing and dance, we let them play along with the tambourines, toy flutes and maracas provided by our ministry. Though some may say, “They can’t even keep time.” I know this blessed concert is not only perfect timing to God’s ears as well as mine, but it is a symphony of praise that brings great delight to God.
There is no greater joy than seeing the smiles on their faces, knowing that this simple act of kindness can make such a difference in their lives. By the expression of God’s perfect love towards them today in this desolate situation, there is a promise of hope in Jesus Christ. These festive times may be the one single factor to help them find the strength and courage to face their tomorrow.
I kiss, hug, and pray for each child; only God knows the love I have for each and every one of them. While we are here on earth, we are the hands and feet of Jesus. I believe that the Lord is watching to see what we are going to do about these children. Are we going to shut our eyes and pretend they don’t exist? Or will we go visit them and extend love and mercy. The choice is ours; I choose to let my hands and feet work for these precious gifts of God. When our time is over, it saddens me bringing tears of despair to my eyes knowing that they may never receive the attention and love our team gives them during this time of celebration, until we come again.
In addition to our time spent in the orphanages of Jamaica, I have been invited to preach, make guest appearances on television, and minister to churches in the surrounding areas.
South America
In the evenings we would have crusades where people would come from all around to hear the Gospel being preached. The meetings outgrew the large church initially provided for us, so we eventually started having open-air services. As the reverberation of praise and worship filled the air with joy and expectation, I would gather all the children around me to dance until the music stopped. It was important to me to impress on the children the “Joy” of serving the Lord. Each night, as the dancing would finish, I knew I had accomplished my goal. The children instinctively knew I had a great love for them. They felt so loved and secure with me; that they would not go back to their seats. As many as could, climbed upon my lap while the rest of the children sat on the ground all around me through out the services. What a blessing they all were to me.
One particular day, the warm breezes alluded to the fragrance of native flowers and that coupled with a day full of sunshine, set the tone for a nearly perfect day. Nathan sang and played his guitar in the streets, and people came from all directions to witnesses the glory of God. We preached the word of God and many souls were won to Jesus Christ that day. The little village had turned into a haven of faith as people received their miracles and healings. Later on that same day there was another miracle waiting for us, as we prayed for a lady who had suffered from cancer and could hardly walk.
That evening after the preaching was over, our customary prayer lines began. A lady came up for prayer who had a tumor on her breast. As I prayed, she told me that she felt the fire of God go into her breast and she was totally healed. The next day the same lady came with her son to receive a miracle for his ears. He was totally healed, and it was a glorious time.
It was completely awesome to witness God’s miraculous power and His infinite love for these people. Many that were demonized were delivered and set free during this mission trip as we ministered in signs and wonders. I thank God for the blessed opportunity to serve the people of Cali, Colombia, South America.
Israel
Another one of my favorite places to visit is at the Garden Tomb. I will always remember when Patrice, my precious daughter and I were kneeling at the Garden Tomb. It was there that the mighty presence of the Lord fell upon us. We could not stop weeping as we felt the overwhelming love of God for us; in the garden was where Jesus prayed, and began to pay the ultimate price for our salvation. No greater love than this; He shed His blood for our sins, and gave us a way to have eternal life.
The children in Israel are also so stunning with their beautiful dark hair and dark eyes. Only God could have created such a beautiful people, and such beautiful sites. I remember visiting an orphanage there and the children had such anticipation to see us. The love is heart-felt between us all, and like a magnet, they come.

Wow! I just looked at our pictures from the trip to Jamaica 2009. That trip was SUCH a blessing in EVERY way! I am SO sorry that I cannot do it this year. I hope I can next year because I would LOVE to make this a yearly ministry event! God Bless you Patricia and your Ministry! I will be praying that Jamaica 2010 is even better than last year!
